Town duo Andre Gray and Andy Parry both played their parts as England C drew 2-2 with the Czech Republic U21s at Woking on Tuesday night, writes Mike Simmonds.

Gray was named in the starting line-up against a side containing highly-rated Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas, who moved to Stamford Bridge for £5.2million and already has one senior cap to his name.

Gray almost set up Nuneaton’s James Armson early on, but the visitors went ahead when Michael Krmencik fired home on six minutes.

Moments before half time, England fell further behind as Lukas Stratil finished emphatically past Nuneaton keeper James Belshaw.

Eight minutes into the second period, the Czech Republic went down to 10 men after Adam Janos’ late challenge on Salisbury City’s Angus MacDonald.

Parry then came on for Forest Green’s James Turley on 57 minutes, while Gray was replaced by Salisbury’s Dan Fitchett with 20 to go.

England pulled one back on 85 minutes when Welling defender Fraser Franks headed home.

Forest Green striker James Norwood was then hauled down in the box and picked himself up to net from the resulting penalty.
