Hatters defender Kovacs is heading in the right direction

DEFENDER Janos Kovacs will stick to his heading prowess rather than shooting after netting both goals in the 2-0 friendly win over Ipswich Town at the weekend, writes Mike Simmonds.

Before nodding Town into a 1-0 interval lead, Kovacs had powered forward with the ball, unleashing a drive from fully 45 yards that almost flew into orbit.

He was on target again in the second period though, heading home from Greg Taylor’s free kick and was also delighted to have kept a clean sheet against the likes of Michael Chopra, Jason Scotland and Nathan Ellington, all who have notched in the Premier League and even at international level.
