Sweet said: “One or two more signings could be concluded this week. Agreements have been reached.”

The Hatters had been linked with Lincoln City’s Andrew Boyce, forward Jamie Taylor, Hereford United striker Ryan Bowman and Dartford defender Tom Bonner.

Taylor and Bonner have claimed to have turned down moves to Luton to join Sutton United and Cambridge United respectively, while Bowman is reportedly being chased by League Two York City, but these were rubbished by boss John Still.

Sweet added: “Any promising link between us and Bowman or Boyce is unfounded. They’re just players we have considered.

“Bonner and Taylor are known to us but have not been in our plans.”
