Hatters chief looking for home FA Cup draw

Town manager Paul Buckle is hopeful of a home draw for his side this afternoon when the FA Cup first round draw is made at 1.30pm, writes Mike Simmonds.

Luton reached the next stage by beating Cambridge United 2-0 yesterday afternoon and on who he might like to face, Buckle said: “I think it would be disrespectful for me to try and pick and choose.

“Whoever is in the hat has earned the right. We’d hope for a home draw, but we’re just pleased to get through.

“I like the FA Cup, I’ve done well in it, and I want to do well for Luton.”

Meanwhile, recalled defender Janos Kovacs has set his sights on a good cup run with the club this season.

He added: “The FA Cup is more important for lower division clubs because especially in the early stages, it’s all about getting to the stage where you can get the highest and biggest team.

“Hopefully we can get through the next two rounds. We have get through the first round first, but after that, the dream is to play against the top sides like Man United, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, all the big teams.”
