Hatters capture young Millwall defender on loan

Town have confirmed the signing of young Millwall defender Jake Goodman, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 19-year-old, who was also the subject of interest from Aldershot, will be hoping to gain valuable experience at Kenilworth Road, having signed professional terms at The Den last summer.

The defender reportedly turned down the chance to join Newcastle United in favour of penning his first contract at the Lions and will go straight into the squad as Janos Kovacs picked up an injury against Stockport County on Saturday.

Goodman was on the bench for Millwall in their FA Cup fourth round tie at Kenilworth Road and Town boss John Still said: “We’ve been very fortunate to bring Jake Goodman in from Millwall. Jan Kovacs is out, so Jake will play,”
