Hatters captaincy not an issue for Still

Henry was club captain under ex-boss Paul Buckle, but the side has been led by Steve McNulty in his absence recently.

Henry returned to the side for the 3-0 victory over the Imps, but McNulty remained skipper and when asked, Still said: “It’s the last thing on my mind at the moment.

“If he (Henry) was coming back to play all the games I would have made him captain again, but for one game it wasn’t worth it.”

On who will wear the armband for Town’s attempts next campaign, Still continued: “I’ll worry about that in pre-season. “It’s not even who I think is the right candidate as there’s not a right and wrong candidate, I’ll just see who I feel is the best one to do it.”

Meanwhile, defender Scott Griffiths has been impressed with McNulty since the former Fleetwood skipper took the armband as he said: “He’s a good skipper, vocal, calm on the ball when he needs to be too.

“With the high balls, other players could try to smash them away, but he’s cute sometimes where he plays a little ball to the side. He sees it and is calm on the ball.

“It’s important as a captain and he demands respect as well.

“Being on the other side, you know he’ll take the ball and he’s big enough to take you as well, so he does the job well.”
