Hatters’ bid for Bishop thwarted by geography

Family man Andy Bishop admitted it was the proximity of Wrexham that swayed his decision to move to the Racecourse Ground on loan from League One Bury, writes Mark Wood.

The 29-year-old striker went close for the Red Dragons several times on his debut in Saturday’s goalless draw at Kenilworth Road after turning down the opportunity to join Luton on loan.

Manager Paul Buckle confirmed he had been looking to sign Bishop, especially with the suspension to striker Jon Shaw.
