Hatters award nine youngsters with scholarship deals

TOWN have signed nine new scholars who will form part of their U18s squad for next season, writes Mike Simmonds.

The nine include Charlie Smith, who made his first team debut in the FA Trophy last season, along with Leeroy Maguraushe, who was on the bench for the tie.

They are joined by Chisom Amadi, Arel Amu, Zane Banton, Tinashe Chabata, Ben McFarlane-Barnes, Jemale McKenzie-Lowe and Ian Rees.

Boss Paul Driver will now have a squad of 17 for the forthcoming season, with existing scholars Nick Burtenshaw, Josh Carpenter, Jordan Davis, Jerome Jibodu, Brett Longden, Jerry Nash, Zak Stephens and Jake Woolley.
