The orange home kit and white away kits were unveiled at Kenilworth Road last Friday night, and manager John Still said: “The new kit, I think it looks wonderful. I’ve seen it before now and the players I know think it looks great.”

Keeper Mark Tyler has also been handed a new pink strip with sky blue change, and said: “I love the purple last year, I think the club missed a trick not putting that in the shop, but I spoke to Dave Hoskins about it and he came up with this one.

“Because I wear pink gloves anyway and it doesn’t both me what I wear with the pink so I love it.

“I think nowadays the green’s gone of the game. I’m not a big fan of the blue because we lost two finals with it and I don’t want to wear it. So hopefully if the refs let me I can wear it for the home games.”

The big launch was completely new to defender, Danny Fitzsimons, who said: “It’s something new to me all of this, but I’m enjoying my time at the moment.

“It’s a lovely kit, it’s a bit different from what I was used to last year, it’s nice and I’ll enjoy it.”

Jake Howells is a big fan, but wasn’t too sure about the introduction of a collar, saying: “I have to say yeah, I do think it’s nice, I think it’s really smart to be honest with you.

“I’m not too keen on the collar because it feels like I’m going out but apart from that it’s good.”

Captain Ronnie Henry though disagreed, saying: “It doesn’t bother me too much, I like it, I quite like the introduction of the collar on it.

“I quite like the orange kit to be honest with you and I hope the fans do as well, it’s quite nice.”

Midfielder Alex Lawless likes the more simple approach, saying: “It’s really nice. Football seems to be going more towards not too much now.

“Everything was a bit fancy at one point, a lot going on with kits, but things seem to be a bit plainer now and it’s a lot better I think.

“There’s more of the dominant colours for the team.

“You know how footballers are moaners, but they all seem to like it.

“To be honest with you, for us it’s is it comfortable and can you distinguish from the other team?

“That does help with peripheral vision and the more plainer, the more block of colour is better. It’s comfy too, so it’s good.”
