Town kept their 10th clean sheet in 18 games this season as they held Gateshead to goalless draw at the rain-soaked International Stadium on Saturday.

Lacey said: “I know I’ve filled out a bit and I’ve grown a lot stronger. Going out on loan to the Blue Square South teams has helped me with that and I’ve improved a lot since he’s been here a couple of year ago so it’s obviously a different challenge for him now.

“It’s the same as any player really, on the pitch we’re not friends, but off the pitch obviously he was at Luton for a while and I just wished him all the best for the season.

“You know what you get with him, he’s a big strong forward, very good in the air, but I thought we dealt well with him today.”
