Hatters haven’t played in front of their own fans since January 25 when they defeated Nuneaton 3-0 after last Saturday’s clash against Tamworth was postponed.

But now they are due to host Hereford United as Harris said: “To get back to Kenilworth Road, it’s become a special place for us now.

“John (Still), myself, Hakan (Hayrettin), Jeff (Wood), because the crowd get behind us, and it will be nice to come home.

“There’s a buzz that comes with expectation and the way that we’re playing at the moment, with the tempo and putting teams under pressure.

“When we start to do that, the crowd get behind us and hopefully it rolls on and rolls on.

“The supporters home and away have been absolutely fantastic since we’ve been here.”

Harris also had a word for Town’s travelling army, with a magnificent 401 venturing to Macclesfield on Tuesday, making up almost a quarter of the 1,705 attendance.

The number two continued: “For us to take 400 supporters to Macclesfield I thought was absolutely fantastic.

“Especially when it was, was it on? Wasn’t it on? There was a 12 o’clock inspection, a 3 o’clock inspection.

“I just want to thank each and every one of them because that was some turnout on a horrible, horrible night.”

With another deluge of rain forecast for tomorrow, Hatters have put down pitch covers borrowed from Glasgow Warriors in a bid to make the surface isn’t affected this weekend.

Harris added: “At least we’re doing something to alleviate the problem, because I think we’re due shedloads of rain tomorrow by all accounts.

“Hopefully that will be down and it will help the situation. We just want to play games, that’s all we want to do.

“It was strange as the players the other night at Macclesfield said what do we do? When do we warm up and what times?

“You do get into a roll more than anything else, everyone knows what we do and when we need to do it.”
