Harris not underestimating Wrexham challenge

Hatters assistant boss Terry Harris is in no way expecting an easy ride when Wrexham visit Kenilworth Road in the Skrill Premier on Saturday, writes Mike Simmonds.

The Red Dragons have struggled badly this season, sitting in 13th place, a massive 21 points behind Town already.

Town’s second string side comprehensively knocked them out of the FA Trophy earlier in the campaign too, but Harris said: “Regardless of the score in the FA Trophy, it will be a totally different game, I know that as they’re not a bad side.

“The players have had a good rest, they were off yesterday and we’ll start doing some organisation work Fridya for Wrexham.”

One slight concern for Harris is the state of the Kenilworth Road pitch which has had quite a soaking in recent weeks, although held up admirably during Tuesday night’s 1-0 defeat to Cambridge United in the Trophy.

He added: “When youre on it, the water levels beneath it must be very, very high because it’s very squelchy, very boggy.

“I don’t know what the forecast is, but they’ll be forking it as Richard (Bird) and Roger are good people. They’ll make sure we’ve got a good pitch on Saturday.”

Although expected to be back on the bench, goalkeeper Elliot Justham wants his side to focus fully on the league now their cup exertions are over.

He added: “No-one can stop us now, it’s in our own hands, so lets power on now.

“Hopefully the pitch is alright too as it was a bit muddy out there.”
