Harris expects full strength Town side at Southport

Hatters assistant Terry Harris is expecting both Jake Howells and Steve McNulty to make the trip to Southport for Luton’s final Blue Square Bet Premier clash of the season this afternoon, writes Mike Simmonds.

Both were withdrawn during the interval of Thursday night’s 2-0 victory over Ebbsfleet, but Harris said: “Jake will travel. He’s sore, you can see by his reaction when he’s limping away, so we’ll assess that. We’ll pack it in ice and have a look at that.

“From where I was it looked a bad tackle and we took Macca off at half time too. He had a very slight hamstring strain but it won’t keep him out of Saturday.”

Town made seven changes to the side that won on Thursday, resting a number of their first-team regulars and Harris confirmed that was in readiness for today’s trip.

Harris said: “Andre Gray didn’t play. Alex Lawless too and a couple of the others guys. It gives them an opportunity to come back in for the last game of the season.

“In the small time we’ve been here the players have been absolutely fantastic. Buying into what we’re trying to do is difficult mid track and they’ve been absolutely fantastic.”
