The summer signing from Northampton was dropped to the bench for the games against Braintree and Welling recently.

Still stated the reasoning behind his thinking was to keep one of his biggest influences fresh for the Christmas period as Guttridge said: “I told the gaffer, there’s no such thing as a rest in football.

“Sometimes I do believe in rotating the team, but I hate being on the bench, no player should like being on the bench.

“But sometimes it gives you that little bit more impetus to try and prove yourself and keep yourself in the team.”

Guttridge gave another star turn in Town’s 5-0 demolition of Alfreton on Saturday, netting his seventh of the campaign and claiming two assists.
