Town are now unbeaten in 25 league games and have enjoyed 13 consecutive wins on home soil to lead the Skrill Premier by 14 points.

But Griffiths said: “That’s brilliant, but that’s the sort of thing that can make people complacent.

“I don’t think anyone in the team has got that in them to become complacent, because of results like that, numbers like that.

“We’ve got to stay on it. I’m not interested in play-offs, I want to go up as soon as possible and I want to go up as champions.”

Hatters kept their fourth successive clean sheet in the 3-0 win over Alfreton, making it 412 minutes since they last conceded.

It wasn’t just Griffiths’ defensive work that won the plaudits on Saturday either, as his never-say-die attitude saw him slide in to set up Andre Gray’s 25th goal of the season.
