Griffiths is unfussed by play-offs as he looks to be a winner with Luton

Winner Scott Griffiths has admitted he is unfussed if Luton make it to the play-offs after signing for the Hatters until the end of the season, writes Mark Wood.

Having won automatic promotion from the Conference with Dagenham & Redbridge in 2007 and finished top of League Two while on loan at Chesterfield in 2011, the 27-year-old’s sights are firmly set on unmitigated success with the Hatters next term.

The new signing said: “If I’m being totally honest, as good as it would be to still try and make the play-offs, I’ve always had the promotion in the past – I don’t care for play-offs.

“I would much rather finish at the top and be winners, that’s much more important.

“If you can say at the end of the season we’ve won, that feeling is much better.”

Griffiths had initially been a regular at Peterborough United after signing for the Championship club from Dagenham & Redbridge for an undisclosed fee in October 2009.

But after falling out of favour there Griffiths became something of a loan ranger, helping the Spireites to the League Two title in 2011, while further spells at Crawley, Chesterfield again, Rotherham and Plymouth Argyle followed.

Griffiths admitted it was an easy decision to leave Posh after falling out of favour as he said: “It wasn’t difficult at all.

“Perhaps if it had continued like the first season I went there it would have been.”
