Griffiths determined to show his true colours for Hatters

The best is definitely yet to come according to Hatters defender Scott Griffiths, writes Mike Simmonds.

By his own admission, the full-back has been nowhere near his optimum this season, but hopes an improved display at Forest Green on Saturday will change that.

He said: “Personally, I know I’m a lot better than how I’ve played.

“Without sounding big-headed, or egotistical, I know that today (Saturday) was a glimpse of how I can play.

“Last week (against Macclesfield) I worked as hard as I could, I’m not going to say I didn’t put everything in as I always do.But my performance itself was way below par and it should have been better.”

It’s not just Griffiths who has been off his game though as Town’s early displays were in stark contrast to how they were playing in pre-season.

The defender has shown signs he is getting back to the kind of form that persuaded Peterborough to pay a six-figure fee for his services while at Dagenham & Redbridge and he believes Hatters will flourish with a settled back four.
