Gray hungrier than ever to be a success

Hungry Andre Gray is desperate for major success after having a taste of it last season, writes Mark Wood.

The 21-year-old striker netted seven times in 12 games at the end of the last campaign after signing from Blue Square Bet North Hinckley United for £30,000, including netting in Luton’s Wembley play-off final defeat to York City, while also earning his first England C cap against Russia.

He’s confident there will be no second season syndrome despite the fact opposition defences are likely to know more about his game this term.

And after a disappointing performance in Town’s opening 2-2 draw with Gateshead that saw him substituted, Gray has had to come off the bench in Town’s last two games but made a real impact at Ewen Fields on Friday, displaying his electric pace to lay on Stuart Fleetwood’s late winner.

With Luton also boasting the likes of Jon Shaw and Scott Rendell, Gray’s in no doubt Town have the arsenal to power them to promotion.
