Gray eager to test himself against the best

Pulling on the Three Lions shirt was once again a thrill for the 22-year-old striker who has now struck nine times for Luton this season.

He said: “I always enjoy it, I played against a centre-half that signed for Chelsea for £5.2million so it’s always good to test yourself.

“It’s hard to see where you’re at, but it’s a different level, a different type of football.

“If they’re so rated and strikers do well against them then people start taking notice and questioning what they’ve not signed to what they have.”

Gray was withdrawn with England 2-0 down, but young Town midfielder Andy Parry came on as a second half sub as he made his England C debut and the striker was delighted for his club-mate.
