Gray demands at least a point from FGR clash

Undaunted striker Andre Gray is confident the Hatters can go to title rivals Forest Green Rovers this afternoon and win, writes Mark Wood.

He’s targeting a point minimum, but believes Town are in good enough form to take all three.

The 21-year-old livewire striker said: “It’s going to be a massive test for us, the same as it was at Grimsby.

“We’ve come out the wrong way at Grimsby but I think we’ve won five games out of six now so we’re going into it in the right form so hopefully we will go there and get a positive result.

“Especially away I think it’s important that we go there and carry on playing how we’ve been playing and try and get a point minimum.

“But I think we can go there and win, I don’t think we have to go there with a negative attitude, especially the form we’ve got going so I think it’s all about us, not them.

“I think the away fans always come out in their numbers so I think that could be a good away following again as usual. I think they will get behind us again and we’ll kick on.”

Playing away may also help to ease the pressure and Gray’s buoyed by the fact that they will also have to come to Kenilworth Road later in the season.

The England C international added: “In its way yes, but in its ways it’s better being at home.

“I think you can’t look at it like that, I think you need to go there and play how we usually play and how we would play at home.

“It’s a little bit less pressure away, so it could work in our favour as well as them being under pressure at our place. But there’s plenty of time for that too as they’ve got to come back to our place.”
