On whether he thought he’s made an impression with his goal, he said: “Hopefully, and hopefully in a good way as well!”

Parry, who was released by Blackburn Rovers as a teenager, is relishing the prospect of having Kenilworth Road as his own home, saying: “It’s a very good atmosphere when there are 6,000 fans cheering you on and I’ve probably never had that in my career.”

The 21-year-old, can play in both defence and midfield, but boss John Still is known to see him as more of defender, although Parry is happy to play in either position.
