Glowing praise for Hatters’ tremendous away support

THE bond between Luton’s players and fans continues to grow according to Hatters manager Gary Brabin despite his side being held to a 1-1 draw at Darlington on Tuesday night, writes Mike Simmonds.

At the final whistle, Brabin led his players over to the 123 visiting fans to show their appreciation, something he had also done at York City on Saturday.

He said: “I totally understand every emotion they’re going through at the moment.

“We’re at the business end and it’s important that we keep believing. The support the last few games, at York away was fantastic and it’s great that we all connected and got together.

“I thought even through all the incidents on Tuesday, they were very positive and kept supporting us.

“It was the right thing after all that travelling they’ve had to do of late that we went over and got a little bit closer to the fans and showed them how much it does matter to us.”

Goalkeeper Mark Tyler was also keen to show just how much the fans’ support meant as he said: “They’ve travelled three or four hours to come and watch. It’s nice to appreciate what they do for the club and we should do it every game.

“It was great to see them all cheering us at the end.”

Meanwhile, recalled midfielder Godfrey Poku added: “They’ve done well to travel up all this way and we did work hard all night. We dug it out, played with 10 men for a bit, hopefully we can just go again.”
