Gleeson: Red card was the only option
TOWN defender Dan Gleeson felt referee Ross Joyce had no option but to send off Tamworth captain Paul Green after just 17 minutes of the Blue Square Bet Premier clash at the Lamb Ground on Saturday, writes Mike Simmonds.
Both players slid in for a challenge near the halfway line, but it was Gleeson who came off far worse and he said: “For me it was a red card, no question about it.
“He’s lunged in and if my foot was on the floor he probably breaks my ankle, so I’ve got off very lightly.”
