Gleeson delighted to make comeback

DELIGHTED Dan Gleeson was pleased to make his comeback as a second half sub in the goalless draw at Alfreton Town on Saturday, writes Mark Wood.

The 26-year-old right-back has endured an injury-ravaged season, spending long spells on the sidelines with back and ankle problems.

Having been back in training for less than a week, he was on the bench against Ebbsfleet on Tuesday night too, and said: “A new manager has come in with new ideas, new theories and I’m just thankful he’s given me a chance

“I’m not as fit as I want to be, but training this week has certainly helped me. We’ve done a lot of work on the training field and that can only help me get stronger, fitter and better out there.

“Training’s been very sharp and I’ve felt good considering I’ve been out for a fair while.”
