Frustrated Fitzsimons is ready to get up and running
Luckless Luton defender Danny Fitzsimons is still hoping to play a part in pre-season despite injuring his knee on the trip to Portugal, writes Mark Wood.
The 21-year-old has had to look on from the sidelines as he said: “It’s very difficult because you know you want to be out there showing people what you can do and that. But obviously in time hopefully I’ll get my chance.
“It’s frustrating but the boys are working hard.”
On how it happened, the summer signing from Histon continued: “I just opened up my knee in Portugal on the first day, but I’ll be back.
“I feel a big part of it. When it happened, the lads said to me just keep going and it will be all right so everything’s fine really.”
