Franks is well aware of City strength

Hatters defender Fraser Franks knows all about Town’s Saturday opponents Salisbury City, writes Mike Simmonds.

The centre half was part of the Welling United team who pipped the Whites to the Conference South title last year by just four points.

Salisbury have adapted well to life in the Skrill Premier, sitting just a place outside the play-offs as Franks said: “Personally I know them quite well as with Welling, we had a bit of a promotion battle with them last year.

“It’s tough place to go, so we’ll have to be on our game.

“I know a lot of their players and most of their team, so I know their standard.

“They’re a decent team, but I fancy us to go anywhere and pick up points.”

Town now head the table by 14 points from nearest rivals Cambridge United after defeating Alfreton Town 3-0 on Saturday.

The two sides meet at the Abbey Stadium on Tuesday night, but despite their advantage, Franks was not looking too far ahead.
