Former Town boss Money rejects Indian move

Ex-Luton Town boss Richard Money has turned down the chance to manage new Indian club Jindal Vijayanagar Steel.

The 57-year-old rejected the opportunity to boss the Bangalore-based side in the I-League to remain in charge of Town’s Conference rivals Cambridge United.

He said: “It was something no-one could dismiss out of hand.

“I gave it a lot of thought and I’ll still be here next year.”

Money, who has managed AIK and Västerås SK in Sweden and Australian club Newcastle Jets, added: “It’s a really big project and the people have been really impressive.

“It was very tempting and very flattering to be involved in. But you can’t do both jobs unfortunately.”
