Ex-Town defender Spillane is released by title rivals Cambridge United
Ex-Hatters defender Michael Spillane has left Skrill Premier title rivals Cambridge United by mutual consent.
The 24-year-old played in midfield for the U’s, making 16 appearances this season after Cambridge had seen off competition from the Hatters to sign him as a free agent in the summer.
Spillane scored four times in 49 games for the Hatters while on loan from Norwich City as Town were relegated into the Conference.
