Ex-Hatter Osano released by AFC Wimbledon

Former Hatters right-back Curtis Osano is one of eight players being released by AFC Wimbledon.

The 26-year-old turned down a new deal with Luton last season to sign for the Dons in the summer, after making 39 appearances at Kenilworth Road.

Fellow ex-Hatters Danny Crow and Robbie Willmott, meanwhile, have signed new deals at promoted Newport County AFC. The Exiles are still waiting on 29-year-old forward Aaron O’Connor to agree a new deal though after he moved to Wales from Luton at the start of last season.

O’Connor top-scored for the club with 20 goals, but boss Justin Edinburgh insists he will not pay over the odds to keep him.

He said: “Every player has a price. I would never go above what I feel is value for money.

“I’ve got no problem with him listening to what other clubs have to offer. I had no doubt there would be other interest.

“But we hope he will be the final piece of the jigsaw for this existing squad and we can hopefully add some more quality to a fantastic group of players.

“It’s not something that can be rushed if it’s not appropriate but there will be a time when we’ll have to make a decision and draw a line on it.

“It would be nice to secure his future before we go away, but he’s coming away with us so that gives me another three or four days to continue my talks and hopefully secure his future at the football club.”
