The 19-year-old midfielder played a pivotal role at the end of last season, appearing in the last seven games and scoring his first senior goal on the last day of the season in the 3-1 victory at Southport.

Having clearly impressed new boss John Still, and been rewarded with a one-year contract extension, Robinson is in no mood to stop now.

He said: “I personally haven’t been told anything about the role I will play next year. I think in that sense it’s down to me.

“I’ve done enough to put a seed in the gaffer’s mind to stay around and be given a chance.

“It’s up to me to water that seed and stay around and hopefully get in for the first game of the season.”

Having been released from Leicester City’s Academy last season, Robinson, who made a total of 14 appearances for the Hatters last season, was clearly delighted by the progress he has made.
