Driver dreams of first team regulars after his youngsters make their mark

Pro deals for his scholars rather than any league glory is the objective for Luton youth coach Paul Driver.

He’s hoping that youngsters like Ian Rees, Tinashe Chabata and Luke Trotman will be able to follow in striker Zane Banton’s footsteps and earn a pro deal after making their Hatters debuts this season.

Driver said: “You want to look at that in three years’ time and have them playing rather than keeping them back here and win a league that everyone forgets about in three years time because there’s no-one on the pitch who came through our youth system so what’s the point, so I’m really encouraged with them.”
