Defender Murray hopeful of playing for Luton again

DEFENDER Freddie Murray has confirmed he would love to pull the Luton Town shirt on once more, writes Mike Simmonds.

After signing a new one-year deal in the summer, the 29-year-old hasn’t kicked a ball in anger at all this season due to a long-term knee injury.

The likeable Irishman, who has made 79 appearances, scoring one goal, is still a regular at the training ground though and would be thrilled to have another opportunity at Kenilworth Road.

He said: “I’d love to play for Luton. This is my third season now and I’m very disappointed I haven’t been able to get involved.

“It’s difficult for any player to be injured for a long period of time, but especially when the team is struggling, it makes it harder.

“When the team is winning it’s easier. This year the team hasn’t moved on as well as we’d have liked and lost a manager, a good lad as well.

“In the two years I’ve been here I think I’ve shown I’m good value for money and have performed to a good level.”
