Dance hopes to be fit for pre-season

WINGER James Dance has set himself the target of being fit for the start of Hatters’ pre-season training, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 25-year-old, who hasn’t featured since the 0-0 FA Trophy draw at Hinckley United on January 18, remains on crutches after ankle surgery, but speaking at the supporters presentation evening, he said: “The surgeon told me not to put a date on it. I’ll be in all over the summer, trying to build the muscle back up, then I’m hoping to be in for pre-season.

“I’m feeling good. The cast came off recently, so I’m in this air cast boot for hopefully only two weeks depending on how it goes.

“I’m back in every day with Simon (Parsell) the physio now, but have got complete muscle wastage, so it’s going to be a long road back.

“I might have my own schedule, so I’m hoping to be fit for start of the season.”
