Dance is up-and-running again as he looks for a return

UP-AND-RUNNING midfielder James Dance is weeks away from getting back into full training after recovering from an ankle operation, writes Mark Wood.

The surgery helped to cure a stress fracture and tighten loose ligaments and he is desperate to get back into the action.

Dance said: “I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now. This last week I started running on it outside.

“I’ve been on the treadmill for a little while longer, it was a real breakthrough getting outside on the grass and getting my boots back on.

“It’s the main weight-bearing bone and that’s why running has been left to the last minute. When you are in the running position that’s when that bone’s under the most stress.

“So now it’s got a screw in it, it needed time to heal.”
