Dale dive in to sign Barnes-Homer on loan

OUT-OF-FAVOUR Hatters striker Matthew Barnes-Homer has been loaned to League One outfit Rochdale until the New Year.

He will stay at Dale until January 16 and goes straight into Steve Eyre’s squad to face Hartlepool United at Spotland on Saturday.

Having been signed from Kidderminster Harriers in 2009, the 25-year old has hit 23 goals in 81 appearances for the Hatters.

But he has struggled to hold on to a starting place since Gary Brabin took command, last playing in this season’s opening day 1-1 home draw with Forest Green Rovers.

Town have a number of attacking options at their disposal and are known to be in the market for a new striker.

Barnes-Homer is eligable to play in all cup competitions for the Dale but cannot play should Rochdale face the Town during this period.
