Cash wants another promotion in the bank

The ambition of promotion was the main attraction for new coach Stuart Cash who joined Town’s backroom staff last week, writes Mike Simmonds.

Cash, 47, had been with League Two AFC Wimbledon for five years until he was sacked along with manager Terry Brown in September.

He is no stranger to winning promotion, helping the Dons from the Ryman League to the Football League, courtesy of a play-off penalty shoot-out win over Luton two years ago.

He said: “The lure of helping Luton get back into the League was very strong.

“They are a big club and if I can play a small part along the way then that will be great.

“The ambition of Gary Sweet and Bucks (Paul Buckle) when talking to them was one of the main reasons I joined, because everything is geared towards promotion here.”
