Canaries snap up Town youngster on loan

The 18-year-old has made two appearances for Town in the FA Trophy this season and a statement on the Canaries website said: “Hitchin are pleased to announce the signing of 18 year old Charlie Smith on loan from Luton Town.

“Charlie is an attacking midfield player and Mark (Burke, manager) has been a long time admirer of Charlie who he has seen play at the Arena on many occasions.

“He was on the bench as Luton were beaten in the FA Trophy by Cambridge United on Tuesday.

“Charlie will go straight in to the first team squad.”

On the move, Smith tweeted: “Pleased to be on loan at @HitchinTownFC , looking foward to the challenge!”
