Buoyant Hatters are ready to cope with Darlo demands

THE exertions of Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at York City for nine-man Hatters will not effect them when they visit Darlington tomorrow night according to Town boss Gary Brabin, writes Mark Wood.

Brabin is confident that his side will be able to cope with the demands of playing again three days later, saying: “I think they are probably a little overworked after being two men down. It’s took a lot out of them but I think they are all in good spirits.

“They’ve worked hard and put a good shift in and that’s what we expect and demand every game.

“It’s always a little bit more of a workload, but we’ve got a good recovery routine which we will work on with another game coming so quick after.

“The lads are fit and strong and the main thing really is getting our fit and able bodies involved.

“I’m more than confident that the lads that played will be fully recovered when the next game comes.”

And he believes that performance will have given both the the players and supporters heart.

Brabin added: “We are disappointed we are chasing it, a goal down. But I thought the spirit and the attitude, certainly that’s one of things that was questioned after the game against Wrexham, I think it was evident there is definitely a bit of fight, a lot of spirit and a lot of desire in them bunch of lads.

“There’s a difference between creating and fighting and holding on, and it was nice to be the underdog if you like. To show that fight and determination and I thought everyone appreciated it.

“There was a great connection between the supporters and the players and I was really proud to be the manager.

“We are a goal down which isn’t ideal. Under the circumstances there are a lot of positives to come from it, the fact that we are still in the tie. It’s another fantastic opportunity for us to try and level things up and then hopefully go on to win.”
