Buckle: We deserve to be at Wembley

TOWN boss Paul Buckle felt his side were worthy winners as they reached the Conference play-off final at Wembley with a 3-2 aggregate win over Wrexham, writes Mike Simmonds.

Luton followed up their 2-0 victory at Kenilworth Road on Thursday with a 2-1 defeat on Monday against a side who had finished 17 points above them in the league campaign.

Town were forced to hang on in the face of an aerial battering, setting up a mouthwatering tie with rivals York City in the final next Sunday.

A delighted Buckle said: “Since I’ve been here we’ve beaten them (Wrexham), Fleetwood and Kidderminster, so we deserve to be at Wembley.

“All the games have got bigger and bigger for me and the players but I’m going to enjoy this one.

“We’ve got one match left and hopefully we’ll do ourselves proud and get ourselves into the Football League.

“You have to stand up and be counted and you get what you deserve. We deserve to be in the final.

“It will be a proud moment to walk out at Wembley but we are desperate to win it now.”
