Buckle rues missed chances

TAKING their chances in the first half would have seen the Hatters ease to victory at Alfreton on Saturday according to boss Paul Buckle, writes Mark Wood.

But despite being held to a goalless draw by the physical Reds, the new Luton chief was pleased with the application of his players.

He said: “I’m delighted with the effort, I’m delighted with the way we started the game.

“I thought we had the first big three chances of the match. The first goal was always important, especially for us, it settles everything down.

“I really felt at half time I felt we deserved to come in leading, but it didn’t happen,

“It’s the things we have to try to do. We have to try and get the first goal.”
