Buckle not ruling out a return for Robinson

Hatters boss Paul Buckle hasn’t given up on bringing Jake Robinson back to Kenilworth Road on loan despite him netting as a second half substitute for Northampton Town in their 4-2 win at Accrington Stanley in League Two on Saturday, writes Mark Wood.

His 67th-minute strike helped the Cobblers to secure victory and, although Buckle was pleased for the 26-year-old attacker, he was left to rue his luck.

He said: “It’s not completely ruled out, but if a player comes on and scores like he has, maybe Aidy (Boothroyd) will be happy to keep him for a bit.”

On where his future lies though, Robinson added: “Everything changes so quickly in football.

“I didn’t expect to go to Luton and then all of a sudden I’m there doing set-pieces on the Friday, so you never know what’s going to happen.”
