Buckle: Lacey is going nowhere

YOUNG Hatters defender Alex Lacey is going nowhere according to Town boss Paul Buckle, writes Mike Simmonds.

Sky Sports had today claimed that a number of Championship clubs including Southampton and Burnley were interested in the 18-year-old centre half, who has made three appearances this season and seven in total for Town.

Lacey, who had been on loan at Blue Square Bet South side Eastbourne Borough, has now been recalled by Buckle, as has JJ O’Donnell, who was with Thurrock.

Buckle said: “His agent is doing a good job for him and in training, I told him that!

“He’s a Luton player, he’s enjoying his football here and we’re keen to keep him.

“He’s not going to be going anywhere, he’s a good lad and already, I’ve seen a lot of good things in him.

“But my phone’s not rung and I’m sure anyone who is interested will have the decency to ring the manager up.”
