Buckle impressed by Town’s firepower

TOWN’s attacking options will be a real headache for teams facing the Hatters next season according to manager Paul Buckle, writes Mark Wood.

New addition Scott Rendell showed glimpses of what he might be capable of as Luton eased to a 1-0 victory at Hitchin on Monday evening.

With the likes of the former Wycombe man, plus Jon Shaw, Andre Gray, Stuart Fleetwood, Aaron O’Connor and Dan Walker, the boss certainly has plenty to choose from.

Buckle said: “Scotty’s a proven goalscorer but you saw he can link the play up and is good on the diagonal.

“So it just gives us a variety of options when you’ve got the ball and that’s what you need.

“With Gray’s pace it’s going to cause teams problems.

“Do they go and compete with Scott or get drawn short and leave Andre or Shaw or Fleetwood.

“This is what we’re working to. They are all cracking lads to work with and, at the moment, it’s a really good place to go to work. We’re just going to try and embrace it now.”
