Buckle delighted by Hyde triumph

TOWN boss Paul Buckle was a satisfied man after Hatters recorded back-to-back away wins by beating Hyde 2-1 in front of the TV cameras on Friday night, writes Mike Simmonds

Luton had fallen behind just 10 minutes into the second half when Matthew Blinkhorn fired past Mark Tyler from outside the box.

But Hatters levelled through JJ O’Donnell’s first goal for the club, while in-form striker Stuart Fleetwood made it four in three from Andre Gray’s glorious cross to seal all three points.

Buckle said: “I was very pleased to win the game. We had two very difficult away fixtures and we’ve come through with six points.

“So the players deserve a massive pat on the back, the fans do as well. I’ll always mention the fans as I couldn’t believe again the numbers that turned up on a Friday night in Hyde, backed us, supported us when we were one down and I’m so pleased they had something to go back with.

“Yes, we need to start the second half better. The first half we caused them problems, but couldn’t find the back of the net.

“It was a bit of a sloppy play around the edge of the box that led to their goal, so there’s lots of pluses, but still stuff to work on.”
