Buckle: Concentration is the key for recent signing Ainge

Improving defender Simon Ainge’s concentration remains high on Town boss Paul Buckle’s agenda, writes Mark Wood.

The Luton chief is adamant that his side must get to grips with the ‘art’ of marking at set-pieces and he and his coaching team are at pains to instil it in their charges.

Ainge lost his man as Dorchester scored a last-minute equaliser in last week’s FA Trophy first round tie, as Buckle said: “It’s frustrating but it’s my job to improve players.

“I always say 75 per cent the player and 25 per cent the coach because the coaches and myself have 20-plus players to deal with.

“The players need to take responsibility, there’s no doubt about that.

“But Simon is new, it’s a step up from the club he was at in terms of stature and size.”
