Buckle believes returning Watkins’ chance will come

Hatters boss Paul Buckle has told Adam Watkins to get his head down and work hard as he looks to battle his way back into Town’s starting line-up, writes Mark Wood.

Having returned from a disappointing loan spell at Blue Square Bet Premier rivals Kidderminster Harriers last week, where he made just four appearances, the 21-year-old midfielder was straight back into Luton’s squad for Saturday’s visit of Nuneaton.

Watkins came on as an 83rd-minute substitute as Town equalised seconds later in the 1-1 draw, but Buckle admitted that neither he nor James Dance may have been on the bench for a regular league fixture, saying: “With Watto and James Dance, probably if I’m being truthful if it had been five (subs), they may not have made the bench.

“Everybody is getting a chance and this is why it’s so important to have all of the players ready.”
