Brabin would make treble signing

AMBITIOUS Hatters boss Gary Brabin has admitted he would love to secure a hat-trick of signings to improve his striking options, writes Mark Wood.

Town have had bids for Oxford United target man James Constable, Forest Green Rovers hotshot Reece Styche and Gateshead marksman Jon Shaw turned down, but Brabin would still love to sign all three.

On how close he was to bringing fresh blood in, the Luton boss said: “I hope so but I don’t want to bring people in for the sake of bringing people in.

“We’ve got a couple of players on the radar.

“I’ve spoken to them and at the moment we can’t force the issue. It’s a combination of facts.

“We feel we are pretty close to one or two of them.”

And if the chance to sign all three became available Brabin would push for the funds to do so, adding: “We are not wasting anyone’s time, we’ve bid what we think the players deserve.

“If I got one of them I would certainly be delighted, two of them over the moon and if the opportunity came to sign all three players Gary (Sweet) said about I would be pushing the board because I would like to sign all three players.”
