Brabin tight-lipped on Poku’s future

COY Hatters boss Gary Brabin was tight-lipped on what the future may hold for ball-winning midfielder Godfrey Poku, writes Mark Wood.

Both he and attacker Dan Walker are on loan at Southport until the end of the year and have helped their new side rise to the heady heights of third in the table before last night’s matches.

The Sandgrounders are believed to be keen to keep Poku, 21, on loan for the rest of the season and the young Luton midfielder has admitted he would be happy to stay if the Hatters extend the deal.

Town boss Gary Brabin said: “I felt it was important, we’ve got all these development players and they had to come to the forefront a little bit.

“In terms of what we wanted from Godfrey going to Southport we’ve achieved that and are happy with that. Godfrey needed to play football games.

“He’s been floating around in the background here and not playing too much football.”
