Brabin remains confident title is within reach

STAVING off the ‘desperation’ of needing victory each week was behind skipper George Pilkington’s title concession according to boss Gary Brabin, writes Mark Wood.

After the goalless draw with Mansfield Town, Pilkington told his team-mates to forget the top two, and concentrate on consolidating their play-off berth.

But Brabin said: “I think Pilks is probably talking from a perspective of there’s almost a desperation to chase the top two.

“What they do is out of our hands and we can’t control that. We’re disappointed we are so far behind them in terms of points.

“But what I don’t want us doing, and probably the way Pilks has put it is, we’ve just got to keep believing in what we are doing.”
