Brabin forced to miss York court date due to bike incident

LUTON Town manager Gary Brabin was unable to attend Selby Magistrates Court yesterday as his case management hearing was adjourned to Wednesday, January 11.

Brabin had already pleaded not guilty to the two charges of assault and one charge of using threatening words or behaviour to an incident that occurred during Luton Town’s game against York City at Bootham Crescent in April on his previous appearance.

Brabin was dismissed during that game after a fiery exchange with York assistant manager Darron Gee before being escorted from the field by stewards, one of whom is alleged to have broken a finger in the incident.

The court said that he was unable to attend the hearing because he had come off his bike in the Luton area a couple of weeks ago and had suffered bad internal injuries.

The charges have been brought by North Yorkshire Police.
